BIO

Daria  Yakovishina
Environment, sculpture, watercolour graphics and multimedia artist.
Graduated from St. Petersburg Stieglitz Academy (2016), Master's degree in Environmental Design.

Winner of international and all-Russian graphic and design competitions. She did an internship in Rome. Her works are in galleries and private collections in Russia and abroad.

She creates architectural concepts. More than 40 objects have been created based on her designs: exhibition spaces, museums, etc.

In her works she experiments with images of real and imaginary environments, exploring the boundaries between what nature can create and human artistic expression.
Daria translates her ideas into visual art genres. She follows her curiosity, her inner searcher and explorer. In her early childhood, while observing life through the microscopes of her mother's laboratory, she dreamed of becoming a pioneering scientist, looking into the previously unexplored.

Using her experience of architectural design and watercolour graphics she experiments with a variety of forms for her statements. She uses sculpture, reliefs, light, watercolours and multimedia to express his visions.

The space of the work is like an architectural landscape, there is no scale and the objects are not subordinate to one another. The focus is on natural phenomena, the formation and emergence of life, and the relationship between nature and living things. These themes are explored through form, tactility and airspace. Then there is an analysis of the interaction between the viewer and the objects created.

Behind almost every project is a personal experience, and the impulse for the creation of works is the observation of nature and living creatures.
